Daniel Radcliffe Says He Was "Really Annoyed" By Rumors Of A Rivalry Between Harry Potter And Lord Of The Rings

Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood have come forward to say there was no rivalry between the Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings movies, despite reports saying the productions of the two blockbuster giants were contentious to some degree.

In Empire Magazine’s 20th anniversary interview with Radcliffe and Wood, both stars said that–at least from their perspective–there was no beef.

Wood said, “Certainly from our standpoint, no. It was just admiration of another significant saga that was being made concurrently by incredible filmmakers with an amazing cast.”

Radcliffe agreed. He said, “Yeah, very much the same. That’s why the rivalry stuff, when it came up in the press, really annoyed me, because I was like, ‘We don’t feel this.’ It always seemed very ridiculous.”

Halo, Destiny, Batman Veterans Form New Studio To Create A "New Generation" Of Games

NetEase Games, the Chinese gaming company that invested $100 million in Destiny developer Bungie, has made another big push into the Western gaming market. The company has announced a new first-party studio, Jar of Sparks, that is being headed up for Halo Infinite’s former head of design, Jerry Hook.

Hook left Halo developer 343 at the end of May 2022. Hook had worked at Microsoft since 2003 and was a founding member of the Xbox Live launch team before leaving to join Bungie and then re-joining Microsoft to work on Halo.
